On Wednesday, October 3rd, international students enrolled in the Global BBA Program were invited to visit the Toyota Tsutsumi Plant. Mr. Paul Barbazza, from Lazaridis School of Business, Canada, kindly accepted to share his impression of this visit.
"This experience showed us how Japan uses human touch and production techniques to reach their personal operational goals"
"In Canada, we learn a lot about Japanese operational efficiency methods in our supply chain classes, especially Toyota’s. Visiting the Tsutsumi Toyota factory today, we got to witness the methods of Jidoka and Just In Time first hand. This experience showed us how Japan uses human touch and production techniques to reach their personal operational goals. One of our favourite things about the factory tour today was observing how the assembly line operates smoothly as one unit to produce the cars. Today taught us why Toyota and Japan’s innovations for creating efficient supply chain management are taught worldwide and we’re so happy we participated in this experience."
Each semester, NUCB arranges and subsidizes a comprehensive number of events and excursions to International student in order to deepen their understanding of Japanese culture and Japanese business practices.
