My name is Gusi Kojiro Jayadininggrat. I'm from Indonesia and study in the Global BBA program of NUCB. Living in Japan has opened the gates of my insight to get to know this world further and learning in NUCB has changed everything in myself. My mother had studied in Japan and she told me a lot about how life there changed her and I felt the same, starting from studying harder, being independent in doing everything, being able to manage my time and having a lot of experience with my friends from other countries.

The Japanese people take a lot of pride in their work. If you give tips, it could be taken as an insult, simply because what they do is their job and excellent service in Japan is to be expected. The food is also amazing. From raw food like sashimi and sushi to cooked food like ramen to yakitori to tempura to Italian-inspired pasta and even ebi (shrimp) burgers at McDonald’s, dining in Japan is always a delightful time. And the last thing that I love from Japan is their improvement of technologies, especially their toilet. I remember being fascinated by Japanese bidet toilets inside the cubicles, even at public malls. Not just about the different customization levels of the bidet, but also the cool buttons like music or white noise to disguise any weird sounds you might have on a bad day!

I live in a dorm near the campus so every day I use a bicycle or walk and sometimes I also use a bus to go to campus. Learning in NUCB is a new thing for me, the class is very active, there is a lot of discussion that makes us think creatively. After my class, I usually had lunch in the cafeterias on campus which were very affordable compared to eating off campus. I will also meet my Japanese friends while doing my club activities, it is very fun, I can get to know them more personally and learn about their lives at NUCB, going out with them, learning Japanese with them and they are also very interested in learning English. I also have a part-time job every weekend. It is very pleasant and I really enjoy living in Japan and studying at NUCB.

Lastly, I recommend you who want to study abroad that you should make Japan one of your choices because you will get a different experience from your home country and you can also feel the unique culture of NUCB.
